Finches Payment Terms & Shipping Policy
Personal checks, Company checks, Cashiers checks & US Postal Money Orders are all accepted for payment. US Postal Service money orders (weather permitting) can ship within 48 hours if arrangements have been made and scheduled in advance. If paying by check "which is preferred", all funds must clear prior to shipping so please allow 7 to 14 days for processing. Bank wire transfers please add an additional $40.00 to cover bank charges. Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) transfers accepted at no additional charge. Check wait time applies for funds to clear for EFT transfers prior to shipping birds.
Credit Cards: The name on the credit card must match the name on the banks monthly statement and the mailing address on the statement and ship to address must all match and be approved in advance. We currently do not accept PayPal for payment but may consider it in the future depending on customer demand. Your feed back is appreciated! Thank you! "Shipping Policy" We are sorry to announce effective immediately the US Postal Service has discontinued shipping finches and most other species of birds due to the outbreak of New Castles Disease and the bird flu. We are only aware of 3 options available to ship Gouldian finches within the Continental United States. Please read all the information below prior to requesting any birds to be shipped. Thank you! Birds can be safely shipped year round through Alaska/Horizon "Gold Streak Cargo Express" which is a little more expensive than Delta Airlines. In most cases your birds can be picked up at your local airport in 2 to 6 hours after shipping depending on your location and airport hub/plane transfers. Again, sometimes delays do occur due to weather conditions and equipment failures! Birds are insured through Alaska Airlines. Gold Streak has their own air logistics facility in which LIVE animals are picked up at most airport locations right from the check in counter. Alaska Airlines does not require a Health Certificate to ship LIVE BIRDS but check with your local Department of Agricultural to be sure your state does not require one. * Shipping 1-2 containers/cartons via Alaska Airlines Gold Streak currently cost $120.00 * The cost of the "AIRLINE APPROVED" shipping container is not included in this price. The customer can supply an approved carton to us for shipping or we can look into providing an approved wood shipping container for approximately $29.99. All shipping containers must be an airline approved hard sided wood container with perches inside and a spill proof water receptacle.
* Please be sure you have contacted us in advance of shipping any Airline approved bird crates to Frisky Finches. We will not accept responsibility for returning containers shipped without prior approval. Thank you! * To ship by the Airlines (Alaska, Delta & American) the minimum order (excluding shipping & container/carton fee) must meet a $300.00 minimum order for Burbank or $375.00 minimum order for LAX and a $30.00 fuel surcharge for delivery and parking fees to Burbank (Bob Hope Airport) or please allow for a $50.00 fuel surcharge for LAX shipping. These additional fees help cover the "special parking" cost, fuel and drive time for the 4 hour round-trip to Bob Hope Airport in Burbank and the 6 hour or more round-trip to LAX to deliver the birds to the airlines. Thank you! * We prefer shipping Alaska Airlines from Burbank Airport however Alaska Airlines does not service all destinations in the USA. Note: The $20.00 reduction in delivery charges to the Burbank airport cancels the additional $20.00 dollars Alaska charges over Delta for cargo "pet first" delivery.

Delta Airlines offers cargo shipping program for animals & birds called "PET FIRST" which is $20.00 less than shipping Alaska Airlines but ships from LAX which requires the higher $20.00 delivery and parking fees. In most cases your birds can be picked up at your airport within 4-8 hours after shipping depending on your location.
